Make New Friends, but Keep the Old

Friends of the Library Elect New Officers for 2022

The Friends hosted their Annual Membership Meeting last week at the library. “It was our first meeting in person since the pandemic began, and it was great to be together,” said David Sandora, current President of the Friends.

The agenda included a discussion of preliminary plans for a new community center (library/rec center), upcoming fundraisers, and the election of officers. The new slate is a mix of current and new Friends.

Many thanks to outgoing active board members for their outstanding contributions over the years — Mary Ann Kerting, David Sandora, and Bill Caye.

There are still two open Board positions that they are hoping to fill before the new terms start in January — Treasurer and Membership Chair. Please reach out if you can help!

** The next Friends meeting is their Annual Meeting, and all Friends are encouraged to attend.
Monday, December 6, at 7:00 p.m. **

The meeting will be held on Zoom.

Join the Board!

The South Fayette Township Library Board is currently seeking volunteers for the positions of Treasurer and Membership Coordinator. For more information or to apply, please contact: sfayette.library.friends@gmail.com

Treasurer: The treasurer prepares monthly financials and balances the bank statement, makes deposits, writes checks, and attends the monthly board meetings. The treasurer also helps brainstorm and assist with fundraising ideas.

Membership Coordinator: The Membership Coordinator tracks new and renewing memberships, organizes contacts, responds to member inquiries, and reaches out to members thanking them for participation.

The Friends of the South Fayette Township Library are proud of our continued support of our local library. Last year, membership contributions were responsible for funding $3,500 worth of resources, programs, and improvements — including all of the furniture for the renovated courtyard, several take-and-make kits, and the teen junk journaling online video series.

Thank you for all you have done to help our library grow and thrive!
